It seems as usual there is a glitch with growing the ducklings. Zynga is aware of the problem. My best advise is to save your ducklings in your gift box for a few days until they fix the problem. I myself have 2 ducklings that are stuck. This is all I see on mine.
No one knows what's up yet but my advise is only grow one duckling at a time. If you grow more than that it seems to mess things up. I have tried this and things were fine.
